Experimental tours and new tasks: How went the second day of the Olympiad “Tuymaada”

The second contest day of the XXXII International Olympiad “Tuymaada” in mathematics, physics, chemistry and computer science named after M.A. Alekseev has come to an end. Today the participants showed their high level of preparation, determination and aspiration to the new discoveries again.
In the first half of the day, special attention was paid to the fields of Physics, where an experimental tour took place. In this field two leagues were in full swing – junior and senior. All contestants had to complete two tasks, which became a real test of their not only theoretical, but also practical skills. For the senior league there was 2 hours and 20 minutes on the completion of each task – the time when every task needed a solution and also accurate calculations and experiments. Juniors, right after finishing the first task, jumped to the second, which became quite a challenge for young physics. All the necessary equipment and materials were provided by the organizers, so the participants could concentrate on the tasks completion.
The day turned out to be no less eventful for the participants in the field of Computer Science. Today, they have received new programming tasks that require logical thinking, creativity, and deep knowledge of algorithms. The participants enthusiastically immersed themselves in their work, trying to find the best solutions and demonstrate their best skills.
Mathematicians also did not stay away: they had to solve four new problems, each was characterized by a high level of complexity and required a non-standard approach. The Olympiad tasks allowed us to identify the most prepared and talented students who are ready for intellectual challenges.
This is the end of the competitive days of the XXXII International Olympiad “Tuymaada”. There is a responsible work of the jury to check completed assignments, receive and consider appeals ahead of us. The results of the Olympiad and the names of the winners will be announced at the closing ceremony, which will be held online on July 10.
The organizers would like to thank all the participants for their dedication, will to win and desire for knowledge. Next stop is the long awaited summing up and well-deserved awards for the best of the best!
